Traditionally, Country Favours were made by the peasants working the fields, to be tokens of Affection and Good Will.  This original design was created to be one of Friendship.  The circles represent Life.  Here two lives are forever linked in Friendship.

One of the many varieties of Country Favour, the Celtic Knot of this design represents the never-ending flow of Life, intertwining in a harmonious pattern.  When hung in the home it symbolizes hope in the future.

Devonshire Glory Braid
 (Braid of Friendship)

English people of the past believed in the
spiritual cleansing power of a broom, and fashioned Glory braids like this to bring friends into the home by sweeping away evil and sweeping in Harmony.  The Plait used in this weave symbolizes hands clasped together in friendship.  Hung in the home, it manifests the Glory of Friendship.
